There are many different types of drills including (but not limited to): standard 118°, split-point 135°, solid carbide, carbide tipped, and four-facet tipped in carbide or high speed steel. Standard drills are typically a 118° Angle and split-point drill has a 135° Angle.  When these get sharpened, we sharpen back the end until the outside diameter is to full size.  This brings the cutting edge and the full diameter of the tool back to a sharp cutting edge.  (We’re also able to manufacture/modify drill to make them step-drills with counterbore or countersink)
